From the flow of your fluid I swam to hit,
Fertile cells shot, yet only one fused with the target
Life was formed, I won the race...to be born.
Boy meets man, cry meets laughter, hold meets shriek.

Mighty Sun, showering light of guidance,
Blazing punitive heat for erring child,
Your home forged good character,
Hot flame of passion, melting indolence.

Those hands fed and sculpted me to manhood,
The footsteps on the path leading to God.
Comforting chest embracing forgiveness,
Crown of Wisdom, sober, judging aright.

Mirror, when cloak of fatherhood is worn,
The Man to become when my child is born.
