When I was young I always loved the butterflies of the field. Years ago, when I was a boy, I loved Monarch butterflies and we had many of them in Wisconsin where I grew up. So when I found this beautiful butterfly in our garage the other day I wanted to research it and blog about it. This is what I found out:
This marvelous butterfly is a male Eastern Tiger Swallowtail, part of the large swallowtail butterfly family, and its native to the eastern United States. There are over 550 different species of Swallowtail butterflies, most of which are tropical. Swallowtails are large and colorful, and they exist on every continent except Antartica.
