I have something in here for you to ponder on.
Time is the substance I am made of.
Time is a river which sweeps me along,
but I am the river.
It is a tiger which destroys me,
but I am the tiger.
It is a fire which consumes me,
but I am the fire.
Jorge Luis Borges (1899-1986)
I pick up these little wisdom nuggets in books every now and then, and something about them always touches me deeply.
We all walk in the light and the dark in this life, and today I will let nature tell us its own story, as nothing can live without water and light.
So, everything is going well in our lives, but every time the dark arrives.
The rain puddles start to change color, turning dark, reflecting the impending arrival of the shadows.
And then, the color arrives again as a promise that on the morrow the light will be back once more.
Very difficult to figure out what the author of that writ was talking about, but in layman's terms, I think that it has to do with time and our own self destruction, in other words time is a constant and even though we are a part of time in our short journeys on this planet, time is what we make of it whilst we are here. Now I am no philosopher, but I like to think about life and its meaning. A river of water to me means life, and the tiger part means that we can become very destructive, ditto the fire mentioned in the writ. We cannot place everyone into one camp, as we are all different, and although some of us are the fire that will destroy ourselves, yet others are water that kills the fire within themselves. Yet others have both the water and the fire within. So, they have a choice to allow the water or the fire to reign in their lives. The responsibility is totally their own. I look at this in a light and dark concept that the pictures explained to me.
This is my own take on it.
So, I included the writ as meditation for some on a lazy and relaxing Sunday. You are welcome to tell me about your thoughts on it in the replies.
I hope that you enjoyed the pictures.
