Come join us on an exploration trip at a coast in the Western Cape Province of South Africa!
Far away from the maddening crowds in a most beautiful wild area, untamed by man's hand.
Wild waves driven by fierce winds, crashing into rocks and places where only birds can go. We love the wildness and the beauty that surrounded us on this trip.
Feel what it's like travelling along the coast at the foot of big mountains where one has to keep an eye out for falling rocks. An exhilarating experience.
Let's have a look!
The road that we have thus far come, all long the seafront with towering mountains above us
A perfect surfer's wave here, but there are no surfers, as swimming will be suicide here!
If the rocks don't batter you, something else will get you Lol.
A tern scanning the wave top for food!
Must be much food here, as there were many birds around!
Every now and again a large crashing wave would clear everyone out!
Imagine what this wall of water would look like to a small bird!
But the birds have learnt the trick to scatter before the wave and they fly up every time to resettle behind the wave. Wonderful to watch how they do it!
Deep water this and every now and then a wave would approach from a different direction!
Now for the secret place!
Looks almost un-inhabitable as we approached this section of the road, but let's see what's around the corner!
Voila! A small private stretch of paradise.
No hotels, restaurants or any other commercial developments here and a pure stretch of nature to welcome one!
I think there are some camping facilities and some form of a pool here, but what a place to spend a weekend or two!
Finally we were nearing the end of the road on our way back home below the mountains in the distance!
And That's All Folks!
The Western Cape Province is known for it's natural beauty and the city of Cape Town, with the famous Table Mountain watching over it, is also one of the most popular cities for tourists from across the world.
But we are the types that prefer the untamed parts of nature, the rough and wild beauty of landscapes that were formed over centuries to please one's eyes. Sounds of birds and wildlife to stroke one's ears and the rushing thunder of waves crashing into rocky shores.
A place to break away from normal indoctrined thoughts cultivated by the media and corporations with their ideas about what life should be, for own gain of course; and just to empty the mind to allow mother nature and the ocean to wash it clean.
I call it the "re-setting", or restoring to default of my thought patterns and it really helps one to realize the true value of life as it was meant to be. To dump the invented jargon that drives one into sheep mode and to be released from the constraints and shackles of false creations.
Nature is wild and free and just so we were all designed to live in this same freedom. A freedom to enjoy life and to value every moment of beauty. But we get trapped in the artificial beauty of material stuff that never lasts and that can never satisfy our wanting souls. Peace, love and kindness are all freely available to us, if only...if only!
Think about it!
