Losing his old skin to prepare for Spring!
I honestly haven't seen one in years and what a wonderful surprise meeting this little guy today.
I was hidden in a bush watching the nesting crows when a movement caught my eye and there he was, looking at me as if to say; "Hey, this is my bush and who are you"?
To give you an idea of his adult size!
A little cutie isn't he?
Oh and they can roll their eyes dramatically.
So I put him back in his bush and he was happy.
Dwarf Chameleons are on the endangered species list here, as not only do they have to cope with many predators, but mankind's potent insecticide's are also taking a big toll on their population.
Again and I say this so many times, I just cannot understand why somebody would take a wild animal out of it's natural habitat to be imprisoned for life in a cage.
So sad and at least this little guy is free for now!
