...as it is known that here in the Cape, we can have all seasons in one day.
First a lovely blue early morning, and a pied crow guiding a harrier hawk out of its territory (3 shots below), then a quick fading rainbow with a helicopter flying over it, and then some rain, finally followed by blue skies again. That's why the locals call it 4 seasons in one day.
Many years ago, I worked country wide in the construction business, and weather like this would play havoc in the field with many lost hours due to the weather fluctuations. Imagine ordering a concrete drop and as the trucks with the ready mix arrive, it starts to rain.
In any case let me show you how this day worked out.
2 shots below of a crow escorting a hawk out of its territory.
Crow at the top, and hawk below.
Something told me to go and do the early morning shopping and as we emerged from the shopping center this rainbow view greeted us. It was rapidly fading, as rain clouds were starting to drip their drops.
A first time for me getting a helicopter crossing a rainbow line.
And then it was all gone, as this was the scene on our drive back home.
Yep! The weather was not very happy, as look how angry this shot below was.
And then as we neared the last stretch of road the clouds had started to clear again.
Just look at this final shot, acting as if nothing happened :)
All white after it dropped all of its water, and now waiting to reload from the ocean. Earlier the rain came over from the west, and now it was returning to the west, as a wind from the east was driving it. This is the thing about the winds here, as they control the skies with the clouds depending on the direction where they flow from. You saw in the first picture where the sun rose in the east, and the rainbow including the rain clouds came in from the ocean side.
Almost like life isn't it, as a day can start great and one is in control, but then the unexpected happens to turn everything upside down. No reason to panic, but of course we panic. Just take a look over the past panics of one's life, and one will find that so many panic situations were unnecessary, as they all were blown over exactly like the story in the pictures here. Yes, we can blow many mishaps up, but we always have a choice to also simply ignore it in the knowledge that it will most always just disappear and return to normal. I am not saying that all of the bad things will disappear, as some can leave lasting footprints in our hearts, but all that I can say is; Such is life.
I hope that you enjoyed the pictures and the story.
