A happy Friday to all! Now this is what I call a great surfing outfit!
A very strong wind from the north today and everyone was running after caps and hats blown off by the naughty wind.
Days of old, single guys used Volkswagen Beetles and Mini Minor cars and families used the old Volkswahen Kombi's for their seaside jaunts.
We nipped down to the beach to go and watch some action!
Not everybody wanted to go into the water :)
The guys went in deep beyond the breakers as you can see here.
I should have taken a tripod, as the wind jerked me around with the camera!
But I did mange to get some good action shots!
With this wind, the kite surfers were also doing their thing!
Surfing in the air to avoid a breaking wave!
Now what happened here?
One moment he was up and the next moment he was down. What happened?
This is what happened. His kite was not in the correct position to lift him and the wave got him!
Here's another guy that I caught dancing on the waves on our way out!
Finally just a lovely scene for you as we were leaving!
Now, I took about 400 photos here during the two hours that we spent at the beach. We started from the south end where some fishermen showed us how to collect "Red Bait".
Very interesting and then we moved on to the pier to watch some net fishing action. So great to see how the birds interact with the fishermen.
Then we moved to the northern end where I got the surfers and my favorite, some dogs.
It is a tedious affair, as I cannot walk far anymore and it's debilitating as I used to walk for miles anywhere. But now, everytime that we want to move to a different part of the beach, I have to use the car. Not that I am complaining, but the car starts to smell like the ocean hahaha. Marian with her normal bag of "collections" that she picks up on the beach doesn't improve the smell either.
So, we drive around with the sea in our car:)
Maybe it's good for our health!
And That's All Folks!
