The young first and then the old of the Citrus Swallowtail species (Papilio demodocus)
Anchored in hope for better tomorrows for all!
Greetings to all on the first day of 2021.
I decided to go with some summer insects here to ring in the year with beautiful colors, as we sincerely hope that the new year will be better for all of us here on Hive.
Come and be amazed!
This is the old, as you can see the wing damages that I can't see with the camera when I take the shots.
Now here's a strange creature and a first time for me to see it. We think it is a "Wormlion Fly" (Leptynoma sericea)
This little guy falls into the (Polyommatinae) butterfly family.
Another small butterfly and it's also in the (Polyommatinae) family, but there are hundreds, if not thousands of different species in the family.
Here is the one above with wings closed and a curling tongue out to taste the air!
I saw that he has his Covid mask on the wrong way. Maybe he lifted the mask to stick his tongue out at me :)
A most difficult shot here as the swallowtails flit up and down all over the place, but thankfully I got this youngster spot on in flight.
A Swallowtail on the new tip of our lemon tree!
Finally, I have a dragonfly for you here. He begged me for a New Year photo and I simply could not refuse.
Guaranteed that now he will ask me to place the photo of him in the "Lonely Hearts" column of our local paper :)
So, we start the New Year with a smile and perhaps a laugh, as hope is our anchor and we are not afraid of challenges.
In fact we revel in it, as at this very moment a friend is driving a very sick man hundreds of kilometers back to his home city. I am in constant phone contact with them to support and encourage them.
We overcome challenges by action and tomorrow the sick guy will be in his bed at home.
We all have challenges in this life and we can either hide and cry, or we can step up and challenge them right back.
A great thank you also to @guiltyparties for helping us to make this Happy New Year Card.
Let the New Year bring what it may, we all have survived thus far and we hope that everyone will bear the burdens that it presents to each of us with a smile!
And That's All Folks!
I leave you with this to think about!
