Ever seen a full size glass statue of a woman titled "Stargazer"?
I was totally blown away when I saw this new statue today. The sunlight revealed some interesting round circles in the glass of the statue and her face, as she looked up at the stars, was crystal clear.
It all started as I was following a large predator bird that was flying towards the mountains. I got a couple of shots of him, but he was very high up and I knew that he would drop down near the mountains.
The closest place at the base of the mountains was the Lourensford wine farm and as we entered the farm I forgot all about the bird, as this life-size glass statue called out to me.
Come and have a look!
Now who would not stop and stare in awe at this glass figure?
How fabulous is this and it is fully weatherproof!
She is staring up at the stars and the colors of the statue were fascinating!
Such neat and detailed work that it was almost alive!
Of course I had to take photos of her from both sides as this is a stunning beauty!
Beautiful colored rings somehow worked into the glass all over the statue!
The best news is that she and others like her are for sale by a very renowned South African artist!
This picture below is taken from his website!
Here is some other bronze works by the same artist.
The statue of freedom cast in full bronze!
Another view of the freedom bronze statue, about 8 feet high!
Of course this is Africa and his animal statues are also fabulous, as you can see here with the "Wildebeest"
And finally a bronze Cheetah, this is Africa's fastest animal!
And That's All Folks!
There are a few other statues also on display at the farm, most notably a huge naked man with his full neither regions revealed, but I decided against posting his picture, because some kids might be seeing this.
All that I can tell you is that this artist's work is of the best that I have ever seen.
In fact, I spoke to the artist today and his name is Louis Chanu.

And should you want to see Lourensford Wine Estate.
Welcome to Lourensford Estate. As one of the world’s most beautiful wine estates we offer a visual feast across 4 000 hectares of forest, fynbos, fruit orchards and vineyards, which rise up the slopes of the Helderberg Mountains, caressed by breezes off the Atlantic Ocean.
Note: This is NOT a sales pitch, as papilloncharity is not an unethical non-profit and we will get no money from any of the artist's sales.
We hope that you have enjoyed the pictures and thank you for visiting the blog of @papilloncharity
