In our entire lives, we've only raised up two batches of meat chickens to eat. The first time, we got 21 chicks, and the second time, we got 102. This photo is of one of the 102, and these birds were really impressive. Many of them doubled in weight for weeks, and turned out to be some big, impressive birds. This one weighed over six pounds when it was completely butchered. Not too bad. We're still living and learning, but small victories like this sure do make us happy! Gotta love homegrown chicken!
