ย Greetings dear poets and writers of #Literatos. Today, I felt inspired to put together this poem entitled The Value of Truth. As I was writing it, the only thing that crossed my mind was why we are so afraid of being honest. Is it that it is no longer valued? For me, yes, it has a lot of value. Anyway, here is what I wrote. Dime una cosa
ยฟa quรฉ le temes mรกs?
A decir la verdad
O a tener que escucharla

ยฟQuรฉ hace que la verdad
Sea tan temerosa?
ยฟquรฉ hace que la verdad
Sea tan bochornosa?

La verdad libera
La verdad rompe cadenas
La verdad se aprecia
Y se valora tanto
Que su valรญa
Nunca se deprecia

ยฟPor quรฉ temes ser honesto?
ยฟSi vas armado con la verdad?
Por quรฉ reniegas los hechos
Si estรกs en tu derecho
De errar y seguir aprendiendo

Eres humano,
un valioso Ser humano,
con reputaciรณn intachable
Moral innegable
Derrochando honestidad
en cada paso que das

No temas decir la verdad
Eso vale mucho mรกs
Al igual que tu amistad
Una que para mรญ
Es un tesoro real.
Tell me one thing
What are you most afraid of?
Of telling the truth
Or having to listen to it

So fearful?

To be so embarrassing?

The truth sets free
Truth breaks chains
Truth is cherished
And it is so valued
That its worth
Is never depreciated

Why are you afraid to be honest?
If you go armed with the truth?
Why do you deny the facts?
If it's your right
To err and keep learning

You are human,
a valuable human being,
With an unimpeachable reputation
Undeniable morals
Showering honesty
In every step you take

Don't be afraid to tell the truth
That's worth so much more
