Nosferatu: Un Remake Hecho Obra Maestra (🇪🇸 | 🇺🇸)

  To properly enjoy a Remake, I am one of those who usually watch the previous version and then compare what was recently done and refine my criticism or praise, depending on the final result.

  I did it with The Crow and with Speak No Evil, so how not to do it with Nosferatu? And to be honest, I had never seen the 1922 version until late 2024 and it was my first silent film of all time, so it made a strong impression on me, which means it holds a very special place in my heart.

  I am very happy to know that old cinema is still valued by some directors, who take so much trouble to create in such a detailed way and above all, to be faithful to the story from beginning to end as director Robert Eggers did so splendidly.

  I honestly had high expectations after seeing that very simple version of 1922, although it looked that simple and with few special effects, it was understood how creepy they wanted to show Nosferatu and I'm sure they had to work hard to make it. What undoubtedly categorizes it as a film ahead of its time.

  However, Robert Eggers not only met my expectations, but exceeded them as he added a few surprises to this new version that delighted and blew me away, both for the addition he had and for the incredible performances given by the actors.

  First of all, the casting hit the nail on the head completely. Each actor chosen for their role was like it was made for him/her from the moment it was crafted. I was intrigued by the roles they would cast Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Willem Dafoe until both equally gave their all in their performance and surpassed my demanding aspirations.

  One of the things I loved most about watching this remake was the similarity of certain scenes throughout the film. Each one was done with great detail and precision, which makes it incredible to watch. Lighting effects, the play of shadows, the set design, everything was highly calculated and precisely measured to make it as close as possible to a film that was not remade for like 102 years apart.

  I am very sure that those people who worked hard on that old film are extremely proud of the majestic work of Eggers. Who has given me new hope for today's directors and who I can trust and affirm that what he does IS CINEMA.

  I'm sorry but it's just that the movies released last year all mostly sucked. For me, of all the ones I saw, the ones that stand out are Speak No Evil and of course, this unusual beauty-made image of Nosferatu.

  On the other hand, I also quite appreciated other factors such as the fact that Bill Skarsgård's makeup did not look like his old It character, I liked that they made this more decrepit and horrible version of Nosferatu, as well as the added characters that gave an extra touch to the movie and in turn, explain in more detail the plot of the story and know exactly how things happened and why.

  I have a couple of favorite scenes that I'm sure many of you (if you are a super fan of this film, as it happened to me after watching it) will remember and because of so many details between one and the other, I will watch it again. My favorite scenes were the entrance to Nosferatu's castle and its ending, this for me was epically artistic and even poetic.

  As for the performances, I must add that Bill Skarsgård is very natural and easy to play this kind of terrifying character, he was born for this. Regarding Lily-Rose Depp, daughter of my beloved Johnny Depp, she lived up to her last name and she deserves at least an Oscar for this role. Her performance is unforgettable.

  Last but not least, Nicholas Hoult is ON TOP, I see him achieving many cinematic successes lately, which allows me to affirm that he is living his golden age in Hollywood, a stage that he well deserves because he is an excellent actor. For my part, I give both versions their well-deserved:

  Y es que para disfrutar de manera correcta de un Remake soy de las que suele ver la versión anterior para luego comparar lo que fue hecho recientemente y afinar mis críticas o halagos, dependiendo del resultado final.

  Lo hice con The Crow y con Speak No Evil, así que cómo no hacerlo con Nosferatu? Y es que para serles honesta, no había visto nunca la versión de 1922 sino hasta finales del 2024 y por cierto fue mi primera película del cine mudo de todos los tiempos, así que me causó una fuerte impresión, lo que significa que guarda un lugar sumamente especial en mi corazón.

  Me siento muy feliz al saber que el cine antiguo aún es valorado por algunos directores, que se toman tantas molestias para crear de manera tan detallada y sobre todo, serle fiel a la historia desde que inicia hasta que termina como lo hizo de manera espléndida el director Robert Eggers.

  Honestamente tenía mis expectativas altas luego de ver aquella versión tan sencilla de 1922 que, aunque se haya visto así de simple y con pocos efectos especiales, se entendió lo espeluznante que se quería llegar a mostrar a Nosferatu y estoy segura de que les causó bastante trabajo hacerla. Lo que sin duda la cataloga como un film adelantado para su época.

  Sin embargo, Robert Eggers no sólo cubrió mis expectativas, sino que las superó ya que agregó a esta nueva versión unas cuantas sorpresas inesperadas que me encantaron y me dejaron anonadadas, tanto por el agregado que tuvo como por las actuaciones increíbles que dieron los actores.

  Primero el reparto elegido dio en el clavo por completo. Cada actor elegido para su papel fue como si estuviera hecho para él/ella desde que se elaboró. Estaba intrigada por el papel que le darían a Aaron Taylor-Johnson y a Willem Dafoe, hasta que ambos igual lo dieron todo en su interpretación y superaron mis exigentes aspiraciones.

  Una de las cosas que más me encantó al ver esta nueva versión fue la similitud de ciertas escenas durante todo el film. Cada una estuvo hecha a mucho detalle y precisión, lo que la hace realmente increíble de ver. Efectos de luz, el juego de las sombras, la escenografía, todo estuvo altamente calculado y medido con exactitud para hacerlo lo más parecido posible a un film que no se volvió a hacer como por 102 años de diferencia.

  Estoy muy segura de que aquellas personas que trabajaron arduamente en aquel film antiguo están sumamente orgullosas por el trabajo majestuoso de Eggers. Quien me ha dado nuevas esperanzas con los directores de hoy en día y de quien me tranquiliza poder confiar y afirmar que lo que él hace SI ES CINE.

  Lo siento pero es que las películas estrenadas el año pasado, todas fueron en su mayoría un asco. Para mí, de todas las que vi, las que resaltan son Speak No Evil y por supuesto esta belleza inusitada hecha imagen de Nosferatu.

  Por otro lado, también aprecié bastante otros factores como el hecho de que el maquillaje del actor Bill Skarsgård no quedara parecido ni igual a su antiguo personaje de It, me agradó mucho que hicieran esta versión más decrépita y horrible de Nosferatu, así como también los personajes agregados que le dieron un toque extra a la película y a su vez explicar más a detalle la trama de la historia y saber exactamente cómo fue que sucedieron las cosas realmente y por qué.

  Yo tengo un par de escenas favoritas que estoy segura que a muchos de ustedes (si son super fan de este film, como me pasó conmigo luego de verla), quedarán en mi memoria y por tantos detalles entre una y otra, definitivamente la volveré a ver. Mis escenas favoritas fueron fueron la de la entrada al castillo de Nosferatu y su final, este para mí fue épicamente artístico y hasta poético.

  En cuanto a las actuaciones, debo agregar que definitivamente a Bill Skarsgård se le da con mucha naturalidad y facilidad este tipo de personajes terroríficos, nació para esto. En relación con Lily-Rose Depp, hija de mi amado Johnny Depp, le hizo honor a su apellido y ella si o si merece al menos un Oscar por este papel. Su actuación es inolvidable.

  Por último pero no menos importante, Nicholas Hoult está ON TOP, lo veo alcanzando muchos éxitos cinematográficos últimamente, lo que me permite afirmar que está viviendo su etapa dorada en Hollywood, etapa que bien merecido lo tiene porque es un excelente actor.
