Saludos a todos los amantes del cine de la Comunidad de @cinetv. Hoy es el Ombligo de la Semana y es un buen día para hablar sobre una película que tenía muchas ganas de ver este año. De hecho hice una lista de las películas más esperadas y que quiero ver el 2024, (puedes ver ese post AQUI). Así que les hablaré un poco de la nueva versión de: The Crow (2024) y una pequeña comparación con la versión anterior.

  Este film es una versión totalmente diferente a la que salió allá en el 94. Para muchos, esta versión protagonizada por Bill Skarsgård (de quien soy muy fan), resultó ser bastante mala y decepcionante, pero para mí, simplemente fue diferente y me gustó mucho al igual que la primera versión.

  Es decir, vamos, ¿Cómo vas a comparar Peras con Manzanas? ¿o Chicha con Limonada? Son temas diferentes para gustos diferentes, así de sencillo. La versión 2024 del Cuervo está basada en el cómic (cuya historia no he leído nunca), pero imagino que está más relacionada a este por cómo lo presentaron, es decir, fueron más fieles a la historia plasmada allí.

  La actuación que brindó Skarsgård me pareció muy buena, digna de él, sabía que no me decepcionaría. Claro que son pocas las veces que lo he visto actuando enamorado o de manera romántica, imagino que fue todo un reto para él.

  Otro aspecto a resaltar es que la historia en esta versión se desarrolló como que muy rápido. Y más que darle superpoderes a este personaje, fue una total maldición en realidad, ya que condenó su alma por salvar a su amada. Esta es una de las grandes diferencias entre esta versión y la del 94.

  La historia del romance se mantuvo prácticamente igual, muy apasionada y cargada de amor, sólo que en esta versión le dieron peso a la chica y a cómo se dio el romance en sí. En cuanto al aspecto que le dieron a Skarsgård como El Cuervo, me gustó pero me hubiera encantado quitándole unos cuantos tatuajes.

  Imagino que esto fue así para darle ese toque de chico rebelde o chico malo. Pero la verdad es que para mi gusto se les fue un poquito bastante la mano con tantos tatuajes 🤣. Del resto todo fue espectacular, las peleas, las escenas de acción y los efectos especiales al curarse, todo genial fue genial.

  Además, la historia de los villanos, en este caso le dieron un giro más diabólico y sobrenatural. Este aspecto me gustó, porque le agregó un plus a la historia que no me esperaba. Los finales por supuesto son diferentes y es que todo en general es diferente. Como dije al inicio del post, son películas totalmente distintas, historias totalmente diferentes que coinciden en muy pocos aspectos.

  La verdad es que tenía muchas dudas de ver esta nueva versión ya que su puntaje es bastante bajo. Pero le quise dar una oportunidad para ver una actuación totalmente distinta de Bill. Y valió totalmente la pena. La versión del 94, por supuesto que me la vi enseguida luego de finalizar la del 2024 y quedé sumamente satisfecha y feliz al ver el increíble trabajo de ambos protagonistas 😍 y saber que fue diferente uno del otro.

  Ya para finalizar sólo debo agregar que esta versión es totalmente Gore, hay mucha sangre y muchos desmembramientos. Si te gusta este género, entonces tal vez te agrade esta versión. Para mí fue un aspecto inesperado y me gustó.

  La versión del 94, en mi opinión es un clásico. Y Bill en ningún momento buscó opacar ni reemplazar el trabajo que hizo Brandon Lee en aquel entonces. Esta película tiene una historia bonita con toques góticos. Y ambas vale la pena disfrutarlas por separado porque son diferentes. En cuanto a la puntuación que le doy a cada una sería:

  This film is a different version than the one that came out in '94. For many, this version starring Bill Skarsgård (of whom I am a big fan) turned out to be pretty bad and disappointing, but for me, it was just different, and I liked it a lot, just like the first version.

  I mean, come on, how are you going to compare Pears with Apples? or Milk with Lemonade? They're different subjects for different tastes, plain and simple. The 2024 version of The Crow is based on the comic (whose story I've never read), but I imagine it's more related to it because of how they presented it, i.e. they were more faithful to the story captured there.

  I thought the performance Skarsgård gave was very good, worthy of him, I knew I wouldn't be disappointed. Of course, I've rarely seen him acting in love or in a romantic way, so I guess it was a challenge for him.

  Another aspect to highlight is that the story in this version developed kind of fast. And rather than giving this character superpowers, it was a total curse in reality, since he damned his soul to save his beloved. This is one of the big differences between this version and the 94 version.

  The romance story stayed pretty much the same, very passionate and love-laden, only in this version they gave weight to the girl and how the romance itself came about. As for the look they gave Skarsgård as The Crow, I liked it but would have loved to have removed a few tattoos.

  I imagine this was done to give him that rebellious or bad-boy touch. But the truth is that for my taste they went a little too far with so many tattoos 🤣. The rest was spectacular, the fights, the action scenes, and the special effects when healing, everything was great.

  Also, the story of the villains, in this case, gave it a more diabolical and supernatural twist. I liked this aspect because it added a plus to the story that I did not expect. The endings of course are different and everything in general is different. As I said at the beginning of the post, they are different movies, totally different stories that coincide in very few aspects.

  The truth is that I was very hesitant to watch this remake since its score is quite low. But I wanted to give it a chance to see a different performance from Bill. And it was worth it. The '94 version, of course, I watched it right away after finishing the 2024 one and I was extremely satisfied and happy to see the amazing work of both leads 😍 and to know that it was different from each other.

  Finally, I just have to add that this version is totally Gore, there is a lot of blood and dismemberment. If you like this genre, then you might like this version. For me, it was an unexpected aspect and I liked it.

  The '94 version, in my opinion, is a classic. And Bill at no time sought to overshadow or replace the work that Brandon Lee did back then. This movie has a beautiful story with gothic touches. And both are worth enjoying separately because they are different. As for the score I give each would be:
