Comienza el Mundial a subir el nivel de adrenalina y las emociones en los encuentros. Confieso que iba por Alemania, por una cuestión de historia… Pero Ecuador dio el batacazo y no fue de casualidad, sino por causalidad. Siento que el resultado fue acorde al desarrollo del partido y es por eso que lo quiero compartir a través de un contenido audiovisual.

The World Cup is starting to ramp up the adrenaline and emotions in the matches. I confess I was rooting for Germany, for historical reasons… But Ecuador pulled off the upset, and it was no coincidence — it was cause and effect.       También me hago eco del drástico evento sucedido en Venezuela con el terremoto ocurrido el día de ayer. Mientras escribo estas líneas, reflexiono y digo que, al igual que la pandemia, los terremotos son de los fenómenos más democráticos, por llamarlos de alguna manera, que existen. Y lo digo porque no importa el dinero, el poder ni el lugar donde vivís: el peligro de perder la vida siempre está latente para cualquier persona. Acompaño a todos los amigos venezolanos que están atravesando estos momentos tan difíciles y estimo muy duros de sobrellevar.

I also want to acknowledge the devastating event that took place in Venezuela with yesterday's earthquake. As I write these lines, I reflect and say that, much like the pandemic, earthquakes are among the most democratic phenomena — for lack of a better word — that exist. And I say this because it doesn't matter how much money you have, how much power, or where you live: the danger of losing your life is always present for anyone. My thoughts are with all Venezuelan friends who are going through these tremendously difficult moments.
