Contracts began trading at 6pm Est on Sunday December 10th with the XBT/F8 contract expiring January 17th.
After now 3 hours of trading The volume is at 1,042 contracts traded and price $16730.00, up from its opening. While BTC is up as well at $16180.
For some comparison The next expiring WTI Crude oil Future contract has a trading volume of 10,607. With close to 10% of the crude oil volume on its first day of trading with several other future contracts coming out soon as well. I would say it is so far a good first day of trading.
