I don't know if you like visiting museums. I don't like it very much, but when I see the ancient city museum of Aphrodisias, I'm sure I get excited. Because many ancient ruins are exhibited in the museum, and despite the thousands of years that have passed, most of them seem well preserved.
On the other hand, I have to point out that different parts of the statues such as heads, breasts or genitals were cut off. I think that the societies that were intimately involved with these statues before the ancient city was taken under protection did this for moral reasons. You can easily notice this in some of my photos above. Despite this sad detail, the sculptures and other remains in the museum are quite impressive.
The museum is located on the Geyre village of Aydın, where the ruins of the ancient city are located. Stadium, ancient theater, parliament, etc. in the open-air museum. The remains of the parts are on display. In this post, I only included the images in the closed museum.
There are many ancient city ruins and old settlements on Turkey's Aegean coast. Aphrodisias is one of the most special examples among them. Siz müze gezmeyi sever misiniz, bilemiyorum. Ben çok hoşlanmıyorum fakat Afrodisiyas antik kent müzesini görünce emin olun heyecanlanıyorum. Zira müzede çok sayıda antik kalıntılar sergileniyor ve aradan geçen binlerce yıla rağmen çoğu iyi korunmuş görünüyor.
Öte taraftan şunu belirtmek zorundayım ki bazı heykellerin başı, göğüsleri veya cinsel organları gibi farklı uzuvları kopartılmış. Antik kent koruma altına alınmadan önce bu heykellerle içli dışlı olan toplumların ahlaki gerekçelerle bunu yaptığını düşünüyorum. Yukarıdaki bazı fotoğraflarımda bunu kolaylıkla fark edebilirsiniz. Bu üzücü detaya rağmen müzedeki heykeller ve diğer kalıntılar oldukça etkileyici.
Müze antik kentin kalıntılarının bulunduğu Aydın'ın Geyre köyü üzerinde kurulu. Açık hava müzesinde stadyum, antik tiyatro, meclis, vb. kısımların kalıntıları sergileniyor. Ben bu paylaşımda ise sadece kapalı müzedeki görsellere yer verdim.
Türkiye'nin Ege kıyılarında çok sayıda antik kent kalıntıları ve eski yerleşim yerleri bulunuyor. Afrodisiyas bunların arasında en özel örneklerden birisi.
