My Bean Harvest Story..

It was a fruitful harvest. While I was home for the grand wedding last week, I got a call from Miracle "the person looking after my farm" that the beans have dried up and ready for harvest. I planted white beans immediately after plugging my peanuts some months back, I made my calculations and stick to my plans so I can make up for the lots of funds that went into farming this year and I'm glad the harvest was quite good.

It seemed the rain cut off too early this year. The rain started big this year, I remember how it affected most of the farmlands around here and surprisingly it ended unexpectedly. Normally we plant beans when dry season is approaching because too much of rain can destabilize the smooth germination of the plants but it happened that we didn't plant the beans early enough for the rain to water them efficiently before ending. Am still happy with what I got, it's not necessary that I have to get enough to sell before I'm on profit, atleast I have the one to consume for the whole year, this means I probably won't use my money to buy beans next year since I consume beans allot and it's my favorite.

We made food to reenergize us to complete the work on the farm, grateful to my guy who came through in that aspect. The workforce was much enough to ease the workload on the farm. I had inform some women to come help with plugging the beans. Some people refer the work as "women's work" because of how you need to bend your back for several hours, men suck at that but women do it perfectly, I don't know the specific reasons for that but this is the first scenario where I've seen that "what a woman can do, a man cannot even do it talk-more of doing it better馃榾".

We finished the work early just as I calculated then left the leaves for the Fulani settlers to graze on them with their cattles.

It's unfortunate how we hardly live in unity with these cannibal of people, very few of them are reasonable but most of them are just violent and mischievous, lack of proper training, education and exposure are the rising effects of their bad behaviors, they've been indoctrinated with false teachings and principles that has made most of them chaotic and inconsiderate, they go to any length to protect their false believes, religion and cultures, we are talking about people that value their animals much more than human lives, they are part of the reason for the high insecurity we are facing in our country at the moment..!

I didn't hesitate to let them graze on the farm, we had an agreement with their superior and thankfully they clinged to the agreement which made our deal workout that day although with some little drama still.

The rest of the work was done at home, I had a lot of the bean pods that wasn't done enough to beat the seed out of the back, so I spread them on under the sun then later moved them to the rooftop so the sun will dry them up faster. I collected few for immediate consumption already and it was super good, I loved them although it was the smaller specie.

Maybe in the few weeks coming I'll complete the work and load the bean in their sack. Thank you for reading through my bean harvest story...
