Welcome to Braunton Burrows! This is a nature reserve in North Devon, UK, consisting of dunes that cover over 1,300 hectares, where over 500 species of flowering plants reside.

This runs along part of the 1,000 mile South West Coast Path.

It is a striking place for a scenic day trip.

No effects have been added to the photos, what you see is raw. Taken by me with a Samsung Galaxy S.

The journey begins...

Climbing up the dune

Reaching the first major dune was only the beginning! You could see the movement of sand racing across the floor, who knows how many first-rate photos could be photographed in a storm :P

All manner of creatures and wild plants appeared out of nowhere across the way!

The trek was lengthened as there was a barbed wire fence separating the dunes from the beach (former military area), so I had to walk along the boundary until reaching a wooden stepped entrance leading to the beach.

Due to the time taken to get to the beach it was almost deserted

That is the end of the day trip! Tell me if this is something I should continue with below :) More philosophical posts to come.
