Audaciously Disillusioned Yet Still Hopeful

Leave it to me to instinctively choose the exact moment when not just Steem but cryptocurrency at large decides to fall off a cliff to voraciously triple down on my efforts to establish a foothold among the tumbling rubble. Despite that, I consider my experiment a success...even though I’m not thrilled with the results or conclusions. I’ve gleaned clarity and that’s always a success.

So what did I accomplish?

• I followed through and stuck to my overarching plan, albeit with some revisions
• I made some wonderful connections and discovered some talented people

What did I learn?

• I discovered that many of my illusions about Steemit were bordering on delusions
• I realized that if I want to succeed here, I’ll need to play the game as it is, not as I idealistically wish it to be
• I accepted that Steemit is a longterm investment; I cannot view it otherwise and succeed

Now I need to ruminate over all of this and decide what I’m willing to do and where I want to focus my time and energy.
