John Bunyan
You writer in the dungeon
You shiner of light over obsidian
Turning that lump of seeming coal into a window as solid and reliable as glass
You battler, your terse affections countered by the softness of wisdom in your education
Your faith of quoting verse after verse like so many flying buttresses of living stone
Don't cry over your desire to experiment
You wonder what will happen if you push
But God is a Father
He wrestled with Jacob
He renamed him Israel
He can take anything you throw at him
Don't cry, John Bunyan
God has forgiven you
Grace abounding to the chief of the sincere!
