I believe that we all deserve a second chance. We are not a perfect creation and as such, every now and then, we will err. This does not mean we are a lost course or that we are beyond redemption. It only means that we are human. This morning, on my way to work, I encountered a minor accident and almost immediately, something hit me: the fact that we don't always get a second chance. A teenage girl was carrying a create of eggs on her head, while walking along the pedestrian lane, she tripped and fell. The entire create of eggs came crushing to the ground and as you would guess, there was nothing left to recover. In just a second, the young girl lost everything she had been working so hard to protect.
Come to think about it, if it was a basket of fruits or a bowl of vegetables, she probably would have been able to recover it all without much difficulty. The truth is, we only get one shot at somethings in life. It's just like life itself, you only get to live once.
When we were kids, we used pencils to take notes, pencils that came with erasers so that we could cancel and re-write our mistakes. But as we grew up, we were thought to write with pens, pens that came without erasers. As this point, if you made a mistake with a pen, you could only cross it out and continue writing. But the lesson here is, the mistake never went away, unlike with a pencil. If you didn't want your notes to be messy, then you simply couldn't afford to keep making mistakes. So we learnt to be more careful, more responsible and more matured. Of course, somethings are beyond our control and we can't always foresee certain accidents. But if we are more cautious and responsible, we could definitely prevent a lot of them.
