In this place are located many stores, restaurants and the well-known Chaplin cinema, etc. Nearby is the Colon cemetery, one of the oldest in the country and houses works of art of universal fame, for the materials and techniques with which they were made.
Actually the objective was not to visit the site, but to visit a store that had recently opened and we were told that there was La Llave coffee, my husband likes this coffee very much, but it is not easy to find, it usually comes from the United States.
So we bought some cookies and sat down at ****MERCAFÉ **** to chat and have a delicious cappuccino.
The place is small, but its space is very well used, we sat outside because from there we could observe the movement of the street.
The interior is more intimate and simply decorated, but cozy, has only four wooden tables, two are made of planks and seats like benches and the other two, both tables and chairs are high, in the form of stools.
Its walls are decorated, in one they have a sign with lights that made me laugh ****CAFECITO Y CHISME****, it is a jocular way to invite to a pleasant chat while we enjoy our coffee ☕.
The baristas are very attentive and are well trained, but I would have liked them to have a uniform, just a pair of pants and a pullover with the logo or the name of the café would have been enough.
At the entrance there is a blackboard with the different coffees on offer, although you are offered the menu as soon as you sit down.
He told them that it does not really work as a market and also that they did not have everything they indicated in the offer, but it must be recognized that the coffee they prepare is of very good quality, among the most requested is the Frapuchino and the cappuccino.
We, as old addicts of this drink, order a cappuccino, nothing like hot coffee, to replenish energy, even if it's hot 🤣.
We spent a very pleasant time, savoring our coffee (which, needless to say, went perfectly with the cookies), talking and debating about everything that was around us and showed us today's reality, contradictory and challenging.
We decided to return home, very grateful for our stay at Mercafé.

Un gusto saludarlos amantes del café, hoy quiero compartir con ustedes acerca de una cafetería muy sencilla, ubicada en un lugar muy céntrico del Vedado, en La Habana, Cuba. **** LA ESQUINA DE 23 y 12****
En este lugar están situados muchísimos comercios, restaurantes y el muy conocido cine Chaplin, etc. muy cerca se encuentra el cementerio de Colon, uno de los más antiguos en el país y que alberga obras de artes de fama universal, por los materiales y técnicas conque fueron confeccionados.
Realmente el objetivo no era visitar el sitio, sino conocer una tienda que habían abierto recientemente y nos comentaron, había café La Llave, esté café, le gusta mucho a mi esposo, pero no se encuentra con facilidad, generalmente su procedencia es de Estados Unidos.
De manera que compramos unas galletitas y nos sentamos en ****MERCAFÉ **** para charlar y tomar un delicioso capuchino.
El local es pequeño, pero su espacio se aprovecha muy bien, nos sentamos afuera porque desde allí podíamos observar el movimiento de la calle.
El interior es más íntimo y está decorado de manera sencilla, pero acogedor, tiene solo cuatro mesas de madera, dos son de tablones y los asientos como bancos y las otras dos, tanto las mesas como las sillas son altas, en forma de banquetas.
Sus paredes están decoradas, en una tienen un cartel con luces que me hizo reír ****CAFECITO Y CHISME****, es una forma jocosa de invitar a una amena charla mientras disfrutamos de nuestro café ☕.
Las baristas son muy atentas y se desenvuelven bien, en lo particular me hubiera gustado que tuvieran uniforme, solo un pantalón y un pullover con el logo o el nombre del café sería suficiente.
En la entrada hay una pizarra con los diferentes cafés que se ofertan, aunque te ofrecen la carta en cuanto te sientas.
Les comentó que realmente como mercado no funciona y que además no constaban con todo lo que señalaban en la oferta, pero hay que reconocer que el Café que preparan es de muy buena calidad, entre los más solicitados se encuentra el Frapuchino y el capuchino.
Nosotros, como viejos adictos a esta bebida, pedimos un capuchino, nada como el café caliente, para reponer energías, aunque haya calor 🤣
Pasamos un rato muy agradable, saboreando nuestro café (el cual no está de más decir que combinó perfecto con las galleticas), conversamos y debatimos sobre todo lo que estaba a nuestro alrededor y nos mostraba la realidad de hoy, contradictoria y desafiante.
Decidimos regresar hacia la casa , muy agradecidos de nuestra estancia en Mercafé.
