LOH Contest 217 Pork as a star dish(eng/esp)

In Cuba the celebration of Christmas and New Year's Eve is always associated with the preparation of delicious dishes to delight family and friends.

Our traditional food is pork, rice lanco, black beans, yucca with mojo, salad lettuce tomatoes, we also love tostones, tamales and chicharrones, sweet is very tradicionl grapefruit helmets and in some homes as in my house, we can not miss the fritters.

There are many ways to cook pork, in the countryside it is cooked with charcoal, banana or guava leaves, the secret is to control the fire and turn the pork, while it cooks slowly, drink rum or teal, because it is already a party.

In my house we cooked a leg in the oven or on charcoal, my mom and grandmother sometimes also made it roasted in a large iron casserole.

Sin Undoubtedly, tasting these dishes at the family table is a very special moment, I greatly enjoy the process of elaboration, when we are all exchanging, laughing, telling stories and creating a very fraternal atmosphere.

Imagine that in this process the close neighbors are integrated, in my backyard we exchange dishes and also jokes, so that the feeling of well being embraces us all and we are really happy.

It is fair to say that the economic situation is so difficult and emigration has affected so much, that we do not have the same festive atmosphere, but no doubt if it is impossible to make our traditional dinner, we will invent something, but what we will not lack is love and good wishes.

Regarding goals and plans I will tell you in another post, for now not to lose the joy of living is I think a goal of everyone here.

En Cuba la celebración de Navidad y Fin de año , de asocia siempre a preparar deliciosos platos , para deleitar a la familia y los amigos.

Nuestra comida tradcional es carne de cerdo, arroz lanco, frijoles negros , yuca con mojo, ensaladade lechugas tomates, a también nos encanta los tostones, los tamales y los chicharrones, de dulce es muy tradicionl los cascos de toronja y en algunos hogares como en mi casa, no nos puede faltar los buñuelos.

Existen muchísimas formas de cocinar el cerdo, en el campo lo hacen en púas, se cocina con carbon,hojas de plátano o guayaba, el secreto está en controlar el fuego y darle vueltas al cerdo, mientras se cocina lentamente se toma ron o cercezas, porque ya sé está de fiesta .

En mi casa cocinamos una pierna en el horno o al carbón, mi mamá y mi abuela en ocasiones también lo hacían asado en una cazuela grande de hierro.

Sin dudas que degustar estos platos en la mesa familiar es un momento muy especial, yo disfruto enormemente del proceso de elaboración, cuando todos estamos intercambiando , reímos hacemos cuentos y se crea un ambiente muy fraternal.

Imaginen que en ese proceso se integran los vecinos cercanos, por mi patio intercambiamos platos y también las bromas , de manera que la sensacion de bienestar nos abraza a todos y somos realmente felices.

Es justo que les diga , que la situación económica es tan difícil y la emigración ha afectado tanto, que no tenemos el mismo ambiente festivo, pero sin dudas si es imposible hacer nuestra cena tradicional, vamos a inventar algo, pero lo que no nos va a faltar es el Amor y los buenos deseos.

Respecto a metas y planes les voy a contar en otro post, por lo pronto no perder la Alegría de vivir es creo un objetivo de todos por acá.
