Greetings, dear community of coffee lovers, happy to share with you my experiences in a sensational visit to Café Bohemia, this café has a privileged location, it is located in the historic center of Havana, right in the Plaza Vieja.
I confess that visiting it was a dream come true, it is usually full, despite its prices that are not very friendly for an ordinary Cuban.
On this occasion my nephew and his girlfriend, who are visiting Cuba for a few days, invited my sister and me to enjoy a delicious coffee while we talked a little bit.
The first thing I want to tell you is that this cafe has an area with umbrellas in the Plaza, but it also has a very nice interior space, that caught my attention, the inner courtyards of Old Havana, have a very special charm.
This is an open place, decorated with natural plants that grow in pots and are very well arranged, the brick walls, arches and columns, as well as the staircase that leads to the upper floor, makes you feel in an intimate and comfortable atmosphere.
To surprise me a little more, the café has an enclosed area with very well placed tables and a small but cozy bar.
I was able to appreciate the kitchen area which is spacious and well equipped, with a door leading to the patio from where the curious like me can see the coming and going of the staff who are very skilled and agile in service.
We chose to sit outside, the view is simply beautiful, the surrounding buildings are shown with the majesty of colonial and neocolonial architecture, the different styles of those centuries and that combine very well with the sculptures that adorn the Plaza.
In the outside area there is a piece of furniture that helps the sales clerks, since they have to look for the orders to the kitchen that is located inside and there they have at hand different utensils that could be requested and they can offer them quickly.
The kindness and solicitude of the waiters makes you feel very comfortable, we asked them to explain to us some of their offers, which were quite varied and we decided on a mocka coffee and lemonade.
To top it all off, the evening was enlivened by the music of a small but very original group, which added a Cuban flavor to the atmosphere.
It had been a long time since I had seen my nephew, he lives in Germany, we had a very pleasant time that was interrupted by the rain that we had been wishing for and that came unexpectedly, but that was very well received by all and provided a fun ending to our meeting.
I can tell you that Café Bohemia is truly an option to make a stop in our tour of the historic center and enjoy a very picturesque place, with an excellent view, a demanding gastronomy and a super special treatment, although the prices are high, but it is well worth it.
