There are sports of all kinds and for all tastes! some require a lot of physical conditions, others require a lot of technique and concentration! and then we have those that combine all of the above! But did you know that Red Bull sponsors a sport classified as: Aerobic and it is the Paper Wings, or (paper plane competition). wow!!! I imagine you were surprised because you didn't know this existed!...But it is a sport that has been around for some time and is already consolidated as a WORLDWIDE COMPETITION!!! What do you think if you join me in this post to learn everything about the sport and also get into the Lisbon qualifiers for the next World Cup!📃📜🚀🛫

COMO ME ENTERE DEL DEPORTE📃✈/HOW I DISCOVERED THE SPORT📜🧠

I remember in 2012 when I was in Colombia for university reasons, I read in the newspaper that a Chilean had signed up for the Red Bull competition: Paper Wigs 2012 and I asked myself? Serious paper plane competition? I began to feel curious about this "pseudo-sport" that in reality the Red Buell took a lot of interest in due to its attractiveness to the public and classified it as an "aerodynamic sport" very similar to those miniature airplane flying competitions! I would like to participate in a competition? actually many underestimate the "sport" because it seems to be very easy... But there are people who prepare for many years!!! Therefore, for more than 10 years, Red Bull has sponsored the sport!👀👀

MAS QUE UN PAPEL?📃✈/MORE THAN A PAPER?📜🧠

Love the Redbull video where they show us what it's like to prepare to be a Paper Wings competitor, it's not about taking an A4 sheet and starting to design random planes to break any kind of records, it's about 97% technical and 3% physical basically it's a sport that requires super technique to break world records, you can't alter the blade using, glue, threads!!! ANY!!! It is an A4 sheet that does not exceed 100 grams in weight! And now it will depend on your years of experience creating super aerodynamic planes that are fast as a bullet, that float like a hot air balloon! I was very excited to finally fulfill my dream of seeing a competition live!🧠📕📃👨‍💻

HORA DEL CALENTAMIENTO📃✈/WARM-UP TIME📜🧠

Like all sports, an hour of training begins, here participants of many ages have a space to create their planes on tables to launch them and refine their techniques, basically they seek perfection! it is impossible to cheat because Red Bull places a Judge who is in charge of reviewing each plane before launching them! a runway is created in this case is more than 40 meters! here the "muscles" are heated, something that is not needed... Most of the champions of the sport are skinny people xD, this is not muscle, it is Technique, it is full concentration!!!🦾🧠🦿

REGLAS📃✈/COMPETITION RULES📜🧠

Actually the competition has 3 categories, but 2 are face-to-face and each one has its rules, they are not complex! the first category is: (Distance) here the participant must launch the plane as far as possible without going off the track, the participants do NOT carry their papers... Red Bull gives everyone many papers to avoid alterations!!! in this category the plane rises along the runway when it hits the ground it is marked, and with a metric ruler the distance from the first contact to the place where the plane stopped is measured! There are only two attempts for each participant in each category!🚩⛔🛑❗

The second category of the contest is called: (flight time), and consists of giving the sheet to the contestant who will have to create a plane capable of staying in the air for as long as possible, basically the plane must plan, when it is launched at that point the jury times the plane before it hits the ground! here many choose to launch it with force, others with a different technique the truth is that each launch depends on the aerodynamics of the plane!😎😎

TODO O NADA📃✈/ALL OR NOTHING📜🧠

Many enter the competition to live the experience but others take the sport very seriously and today, April 9, the national classification is played to go to the World Cup that will be held in Austria in May 2022, I am very excited because 2 Portuguese got good scores in both category that was played at the CC Colombo in the center of Lisbon and to which I had the privilege of going! the youngsters Andreé Miranda and Guilherme Barcelos were the winners of today's competition with very good times!🥇🏆

PUNTAJE NACIONAL📃✈/NATIONAL SCORE📜🧠

The young Adree is a veteran in this sport and broke his personal record by launching the plane at about 43.83 meters in this edition the Pole Maciek has a record of 50 meters! Barcelos' score was 13.3 seconds in the time of flight category! and I liked this result because the record in this edition is 14.80 from the Canadian Ved! I think we have what it takes to compete in the final!😍😍

And since I could go without first leaving a small exhibition of gliding with control, here the red bull teaches us a good gliding technique using very light materials similar to foam🛫📜😨
