JARDIM DO CERCO⛲⛲/JARDIM DO CERCO🌼🌻🌲
When I visited Mafra last time I did not have time to visit the Jardim do Cerco and it is one of the main tourist sites to visit when you come for a walk to Mafra, this garden was built to accompany the surroundings of the Mafra palace, first let me tell you what it is totally free, visiting it costs nothing and you will learn a piece of the history of Portugal, if you are in the center of Lisbon to get here would take you about 40min to an hour! It is a beautiful, well-kept place full of passages between mixed green trees, medieval decorations.🌿🌾🌵

When I investigated a little about the Garden I found that this work of art is in the Baroque style, everything was built in a perfect way to be the liking of the princes and kings of Portugal since many of them came to Mafra to spend vacations in a virgin environment and full of the cold of the mountain! When the construction was carried out, some flowers and trees from other countries were imported to give a special and different touch, we can find a main water source that decorates the center of the park, all inspired by Versalhes🤔🤔

Forte sao felipe⛲⛲/Fuerte san felipe🌼🌻🌲
Get to this piece of historical piece to learn a little more about Portugal, and we go back to a construction of 1582 a quite old "castle" with a very interesting past, what happened was that King Felipe II, who was Spanish, had his domains in the region of Setubal this king gave order to build a fortress which to this day preserves its name, its main objective like that of any fort or castle is to protect the city of Setubal, this king was well remembered for being a good Military tactician, he had seen that the city was vulnerable because of this area that was very close to the Atlantic and was very vulnerable against amphibious attacks!😮😮
Despite the fort being built in 1582, it was only possible to finish the construction in 1600, between the years 1649 and 1655 the general who was in charge of the defenses of the city commanded to further fortify the "castle" what he did was to keep it under protection. the port of Setubal, which at the time was its main trade.🤔🤔
In my personal opinion, I believe that all historical sites with a lot of antiquity should be well preserved and guarded, I can clearly see that in the strong bandalism occurs and there are many things destroyed, and it is worth investing money here and keeping this historical piece because it has a beautiful view of the atlantic, setubal castle and the famous trojan peninsula!😏😏
Then the strong step at the hands of the military body of Setubal and turned it into a training camp and still maintained the strategic position to defend the things of Setubal by the Atlantic, after a few years it ended up being abandoned and only the Setubal castle received political interest. and historic but the fort was abandoned! and today I give him a tribute!💥💥
