A hungry dog... I've seen them many times. Especially near supermarkets. In fact today I saw one in the parking lot coming up to the border patrol officer's car. The car left and the dog also went on his way.
A couple of days before I went to the supermarket next to our home to get some magazines with the TV program for the week. The magazine wasn't yet available but I saw how one very old looking dog sneaked in through the door. The lady who worked there asked if this was my dog and I said, "No". She asked a few more people and said to her colleague to call the security.
I din't know what the security would do to the dog so I mustered all my dog-whispering skills, talked nicely to her and led her through the door outside.
It's clearly not a homeless dog because she had a collar but she may have been hungry because in our neighborhood there are quite a few people living in poor conditions. Usually they are drunks and sometimes they keep a dog. Sometimes their dogs get hungry because they don't feed them well. Sometimes they let the dogs to run around to find some food but sometimes the dogs run away from them.
I don't know which case it was with this dog but she sure looked hungry. But I didn't want to give her anything because she had a collar.
Plus feeding a dog at the supermarket will just signal her to come back to the supermarket and she might meet people who aren't nice to dogs at all.
