The fact that some animals are deadly can not negate the reality that animals are adorable creatures and a lot of things about them fascinates me.

Growing up, I had an unquenchable love for dogs. My mother had to get me a puppy to care for due to how much she realized I like dogs.

Beauty was such a wonderful dog; she was a local breed but full of beauty, and of course smartness. Quickly, she became my friend and I taught her how to understand human language.

Unless it is a place I can not go with her, I carried her almost everywhere. Sadly, I was in the compound one faithful morning and I heard a screech from the road. Upon arriving at the scene, I saw Beauty, lying helpless on the road and gasping for air.

I couldn't believe my eyes, my heart bled, and I almost cried my eyes out. But I had to move on.

I have a dog pet currently, her name is Black, she's quite stubborn but respects me a lot.

Black is also a local breed and her color is black, that's where the name originates from.

She can be misbehaving but the moment I step into the situation and call her name, she stops and retrieves. It took me some time to coach her to that level but I am glad she learned.

Dogs are smart animals, their brains are sharp, they can adjust to become anything one trains them to be with time and patience.

I love my dog a lot, we spend most of the time in the house with her. I am certain she's seeing herself as the last born of the family at this point.

One thing most people don't understand with dogs is that a dog is that animal that is willing to sacrifice anything to protect its owner.

They see whoever raised them as master and family. This is why they can be outside keeping watch even when they can easily find some nice spot to just sleep.

Another thing is companionship, if only dogs could speak, a lot of people would have dumped their friends for that animal.

A dog is that animal that is ready to listen to you and spend as much time as you are willing to give. You can scold it now but call it back and it will come and want to still be your friend, regardless.

No matter what happens, a dog can never bite its owner, unless it has a mental issue. It's one animal that doesn't have the word “betrayal” in its dictionary. Dogs are great pets, and I always recommend them to people.

However, the hardest part of keeping dogs is that you have to continually treat parasites. For those keeping local dogs, I am sure you can relate better.

And another thing to deal with is the issue of bites. The last dog we kept before Black, made us spend some money treating people.

She bit about five people and it was not a nice experience, we had to sell her at some point. I was really hurt because I really loved her but we had no option.
