laputis@laputis and I had guests come over to our house. This was a 92-year old surgeon Jonas Stankus with his wife and daughter. His mind is still very sharp.

In the morning I finished reading his published diary, laputis@laputis had read it ealier. Not only we found out many details about his personal and professional life but also it was like a chronicle of Lithuania in this time (1939-2000).

laputis@laputis prepared a table and I roasted some shashlik in this fireplace. Of course we have leftovers for a few days left.

Afterwards we went for a walk with our trekker sticks for the first time. It wasn't easy. Needs practice.

In the evening my mom called to report on the opening of her small exhibition of her old artwork at the Immanuel Kant library in Klaipeda (6 color prints and 10 ink drawings). It was an event for the 30th anniversary of the Baltic Way from back in August 23, 1988, when over 1 million people from Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia joined hands and united the highway Vilnius-Riga-Tallinn.

So in the library poets read their poems and shared their thoughts what everyone was doing on the Baltc Way day. My mom along with our extended family had a funeral of my grandmother. I remember our bus actually passing thousands of people on the highway who were standing in one long line.

Finished the day by reading "Eternity Doesn't Concern Me" by Ernestas Parulskis.
