At what point did it become the internets job to raise your kids? People cry about how there's all kinds of people on the internet. Imagine that we live in a "society". What part of that don't they get?
Every parent wants their kid to be a genius. But we raise victims. Heaven forbid your kid try. As we all know the tall nail gets the hammer, so everyone jumps to the bottom to stand there.
As adults trying at work comes with little rewards so... why? We live in a society where a college education is preferred for employment purposes, but memorization doesn't mean the individual is capable of utilizing cognitive functions.
The answer isn't in a book. Most of the time the problems won't be. The problems we're facing today weren't in school books 15 years ago. In fact the best asset a person has is their ability to think, access, planning & evaluating information.
Growing a mind happens by exposure, not sitting in a classroom or reading about life out of a book. Fortunately the growth of the mind doesn't stop on graduation day. It CAN be an ongoing lifelong process. Yes it takes effort, but rising above the other crabs in the bucket is well worth it.
It takes great personal fortitude to go against the grain. Something else that's never taught in any book. It takes experience to know when. But if you've never practiced then you're less likely to try.
