"The theme for this year 63rd Independence Day for Ghana is: "Consolidating Our Gains."
It has been so exciting moments for this 63rd Independence Day with much achievements so far recorded. This theme for the year fits much into what we have done what we envision to do: " consolidating our gains as a nation." Over 63 years of delivering ourselves from British Colonial rule on 6th March 1957, Ghana has strived hard to rule their own Country, though still developing we have been able to claim most of our resources & being able to manage our own affairs. Despite the fact that there has been some economic setbacks in our finances, large unemployment issues, high inflation issues devalueing our Ghana Cedis, lack of infrastructures & projects, yet we have choped some good times. These developments are not far fetched: we have been able to discovered our fuel at Cape 3 point near Western Region around the coast. We have many discovered mining sites; some of these places are Obuosi mines, Kenyasi & the rest. There have been a progressively increase in our cocoa production, timber & other food stuff productions. Now, our Ghanaian now ascribe some places like Accra & Kumasi, the two main large city as similar to Western Countries such USA, all because of developments which have been effected. The old "Kejetia" has now been rehabilitated with lots of modifications, most roads have been tared.
First in History this year's Independence Day is celebrated in Kumasi; the regional capital of Ashanti region. Kumasi is the second large City of Ghana with lots of businesses ongoing. People all walks from the part of Ghana come to trade there. A region noted to have fertile lands for production of cash crops food stuff. It is one of the regions that feed the country. By virtue of their "Kente" weaving cloth they are well noted in Africa, one of the popular & expensive clothings.
Now, the parade at Independence square in Kumasi is full with Students, civil servants like police, sodiers, cardets and many Ghanaians. The UN representives are there observing all the proceedings of this memorable & august day. The President of many nations are present. The ECOWAS members or reps are also seated sharing their loves with Ghana in this occasion. Join us all Steemians to celebrate this occasion together. Thanks you very much for your time & stay tune for 63rd Independence Day!
