Hi all nature lovers,
Here is a short photo report from our hike in the heart of the Jeseníky Mountains (Czechia) last week. Although the trail was not that long, it was full of unexpected nature beauties (rocks and waterfalls). I hope you enjoy it as much as we did.
Extraordinary panorama from the edge of Sokolí skála (loosely translated as The Falcon rock). No one is there. Only trees, hidden chamois (as plenty of droppings there), and maybe some falcons. Silence! As falcons may nest there. Praděd on the right.
View from Sokolí skála which is located ~150m from the mountain (1187m a.s.l.) called Sokol (the Falcon).
Another view from Sokolí skála.
View of Praděd and Sokolí skála from unknown rocks.
Halo around the sun, observed from the rock.
Beneath Sokolí skála. You must be like a chamois to climb around it.
A memorable tree, forming so called Pradědská brána (loosely translated as the Gate to Praděd). Data as of 2014: 140-180 years old spruce, 36m high.
Wooden St. Hedvika's Chapel in Vidly.
Young little spruce.
Hidden marsh marigold above the surface of little lake at Švýcárna.
The High Waterfall, sometimes called as the Niagara of the Jeseníky. Until the big flood in 1880, it used to be 45m high. Today, the main waterfall is some 28m high. Still the highest waterfall in the Jeseníky, one of the highest in Czechia.
View from the High Waterfall.
The High Waterfall from the distance.
Another waterfall along the road, Královský vodopodád (The King's Waterfall). Smaller but charming, besides, you can easily take a bath there.
View from around the Malý děd (1368m a.s.l.). Primeval spruce forest with bilberry bushes everywhere.
Sokolí skála (the Falcon rock) again, though different location (above the High Waterfall).
Here, they have spotted the protector of the Jeseníky Mountains, Praděd!
Passing by a farm with horses and impish ponies at Bělá.
While waiting for a ride home... Some kind of mosquito?
That's it for today. See you on the trail ;-)
