Liberstad will be a private city that will be established on Tjelland farm in Marnadal Municipality. It is on 150 hectares of land 45 minutes drive from Mandal and Kristiansand. The property consists of woods, fields, small lakes and ponds. 102 people from different countries has already invested in the property who is now ready to startup. Mostly Norwegians have paid into the city, but also people from among other countries like England, Sweden, Poland, Brazil, China and Argentina have pre-purchased plots.

 The goal is to create a city in which all property is private and all services is performed by private actors, where one can live without high mortgage and without government taxes and fees. 

Liberstad will be a city that builds on a libertarian ideology that all human interaction should be voluntary. It will just be a private city, and not be it's own state, so everyone must follow Norwegian laws and regulations. 

Sales of plots really went up after bitcoin.com wrote an article about Liberstad. They accept Bitcoins as payment for plots and plans to use bitcoin as the main currency in the city. 

They are now in the startup and are cutting down forest and constructing roads into the city. They say that before next summer it will be an concert area and a campsite where buyers can come and stay while they watch out where they want to build. Liberstad will be divided into four different districts, the central district, the tourist district, the housing district and a nature and recreational district.
