A muggy, cloudy start to the week for a leisurely walk around Luiseninsel through the palace park, doing interval walking. Breathing and meditating on the shore by the old alder and under the swamp cypress. Listening to the birdsong and watching the swans glide across the carp pond. And then the light, bright but diffused. Thanks to the cloud cover, it was just right today for me to photograph the two Victoria figures on their granite columns and marble pedestals near the Schinkel Pavilion at the entrance to the wide palace promenade, without harsh shadows cast by direct sunlight. They are Corinthian columns made of red-speckled granite, with bases and capitals cast in bronze. The winged Victoria figures are clad in flowing ancient robes; both wear a laurel wreath on their heads and hold a wreath and a palm branch in their right and left hands, respectively. I took the opportunity to capture both of them from every angle, except from behind, and brought the photos back for you to enjoy.

Ein schwüler, bewölkter Wochenanfang für eine entspannte Luiseninselrunde durch den Schlosspark im Intervall-Walking. Atmen und meditieren am Ufer bei der alten Erle und unter der Sumpfzypresse. Dem Vogelkonzert zuhören und den Schwänen beim Gleiten über den Karpfenteich. Und dann das Licht, hell aber diffusiert. Das war heute durch die Bewölkung genau richtig, um mir die beiden Viktorienfiguren auf ihren Granitsäulen und Marmorsockeln nahe dem Schinkel-Pavillon am Eingang der breiten Schlosspromenade vorzunehmen, ohne harte Schatten durch direktes Sonnenlicht. Es sind korinthische Säulen aus rot geflecktem Granit, deren Basis und Kapitell jeweils aus Bronze gegossen sind. Die geflügelten Viktorienfiguren sind mit wehenden antiken Gewändern bekleidet und beide tragen einen Lorbeerkranz auf dem Kopf und halten Kranz und Palmenzweig in der rechten und linken Hand. Ich habe euch bei der Gelegenheit beide von allen Seiten, außer von hinten eingefangen und zum Bestaunen mitgebracht.
