Well hello OnChainArtists and others! Our community is growing stronger and stronger by the day and I couldn't be more thrilled. I'm excited to keep this community growing and make it a place where people from all around the world come to be inspired and entertained with all your awesome works.

So I wanted to do a bit of a recap post and let folks know whats happening, where we're at, and where we're going.

At the time of this post OCA is currently sitting pretty with 781 subs and $1653 in pending rewards. Really big thanks to all the curators for showing so much love in this community! We couldn't do it without you.

Speaking of curation, there's a few things I want to mention about that. I'm a curator for @tipu, OCD and C-Squared. If you want to increase your curation chances in OCA, you need to directly post into OCA ie not a cross post. Both OCD as well as C-Squared will not curate cross-posts and since I know that cross-posts won't be curated by either of those projects I also won't be curating crossposts with @tipu typically. @tipu requires that I maintain a high curation efficiency. SO if I know a post won't be curated by a curation guild, I'm a lot less likely to curate it with @tipu. Now there is an OCA curation trail so I don't mind curating cross-posts with that, but you'd be much better off just posting directly into the community for the best chance at larger curation.

But besides the curation, you'll be helping Hive in general by posting in the appropriate communities for your content. I'm not naive and I know that people follow the money, which is why I've been working hard to make sure that posting in OCA won't put you at a earning disadvantage. Unless your work is really bad because OCA as the tagline says, is a community for serious artists and I won't be curating low effort posts either. I'm sure that's not you though ;)

POSH

Proof of Sharing is an initiative that you've probably seen around Hive for a while now and OCA is a strong supporter of the #POSH initiative. So posts that use the #posh tag and prove that that post has been shared on other social media(preferably twitter) will have a higher chance of being considered for curation. To take that even further...

OCA Twitter Account

OCA has a brand spanking new twitter account where I'll be sharing links to some of the awesome works shared here, so do me a favor and follow the OCA twitter account and help spread the word by retweeting and engaging with our posts. As a side not regarding this and crossposting, I found that crossposts don't render thumbnails on Twitter, so again, I'd greatly appreciate you all posting directly into the community.

Tips!

So you may or may not have noticed that the tips feature is live on PeakD.

This is a feature that I've been harassing devs for literally years now and it's finally here. I'd love it if you all would support each other by sending little tips to your fellow artists to make that more the norm. Doesn't have to be much. .1 Hive I think is the lowest amount that will show up, but it's a great way to directly support creators no matter what size your stake.

OCA Curation Trail

Another way to support the OCA community is by following the curation trail which votes within the community. I know a lot fishies around here swim around looking for those whale blessings, but the real power of a community comes from scale and ALL of you supporting each other. Along with tips, the curation trail, and more features in the future, my goal is to empower you all to support each other so that the real power isn't focused so much around individual users, but the community itself, or rather, the Hive :)

Other random bits. I'd love to reboot the "best of" weekly post of awesome art shared in OCA, but we'll see if I have the bandwidth for that. I see some artists using the #onchainart tag, but not posting in the community, probably not realizing that the actual community tag is "hive-156509", if you see that feel free to help out and let them know. Also if you see artists posting that you feel belong here in OCA either posting in the wrong community or not in a community at all, feel free to help out and point them to OCA.
