The New POSH

In case you've not followed the news, POSH is now back in a different way.

We wanted to come up with a way that no API's and platforms can block us for whatever reason. Now that we have the tools and abilities to create solutions ourselves (even if we're no devs), we took some time off to properly plan on how to present it and came up with this.

A new place to declare your shares.

A simple hive keychain login and then you'll be able to see this:

While this step is manual which may push some away, it now enables sharing your shares on most popular web2 platforms. Youtube, X, Bluesky, Reddit, Instagram, Tiktok, etc. As long as it's a link we can open (even if it requires login from us) we'll be able to see your share and the potential reach it may have garnered.

If the reach is not obvious, we've added up to 2 screenshots you're able to share with your link as seen in the "screenshot" box. This gives us more insight if analytics of a certain post are only visible to you. This is for instance how things work on Reddit and a few other platforms.

A burn for a promotion

To avoid people sharing anything and everything, even if the posts got no reach whatsoever, we've added a requirement that you have to burn at least 1 Hive or 1 Posh before you're able to post about your share. For most sharers who've done well in the past with @redditposh this is not going to deter them as simply getting a fair amount of views will easily outweigh the burn amount required in what you receive in curation. This also gives our POSH token a usecase for the first time ever, which in the past people have been able to earn by delegating to @poshtoken or by participating in sharing of hive links.

7 hive and 72 POSH have been burned so far.

These shares are posted within the HivePOSH communities' snaps section, this means that they're hidden from "plain sight" in the regular Snaps feed of @peakd but can still participate in @commentrewarder tips from the snaps container. This was done deliberately to avoid "spamming" the regular snaps with POSH marketing material.

As you can see, most usage has been Reddit as many who were active with @redditposh have moved over to the new interface and system while many still may not know about it yet, hence me making this post.

Another thing you can see however and which we'd like to see more of, is you posting about your hive promotion on other platforms you may be more familiar and active on as well as the new initiative by @x-rain with Threads you may wanna check out.

We hope that more people start participating in the new POSH activities and attempt to drive traffic towards our ecosystem through many different platforms.

However keep in mind that you have to share through scrobble.life/posh for your shares to be eligible for curation.

If you're not getting any curation at all, it's probably best that you strive to get more reach on those platforms before trying POSH again so you don't just end up burning hive/posh without getting anything in return.
