Movies are influential in the mentality of people that are addicted to movies. The society is been influenced by the kind of movies they watch, there's danger in watching movies especially the ones that does not promote the teachings of Christ.
As christians, it is not every movie that we are expected to watch because movies can influence our actions and the areas of our life as a whole. For example, when someone get used to watching too many bloody or horror movies, it can start to affect them in real life. At first, it may just feel like normal entertainment but with time, the person may begin to feel scared more easily. Little things that never used to bother them can suddenly become frightening. This happens because the mind keeps getting used to fear and danger from what it sees on the screen and the person may become more anxious and uncomfortable, even when there is nothing to be afraid of.
As christians, we should abstain from movies that promote immorality, violence, lust, occult practices, ungodly values etc, as it contradict our christian faith. Watching movies is not a sin, but the content of that movie is what makes it a sin. We should watch movies that aligns with Godly values and does not negatively affect our spiritual life instead, it should be a movie that draws us closer to God's teachings.
