From the beginning God's desire for marriage was a faithful union between one man and one woman, although the Bible records that some kings and patriarchs had multiple wives, it does not present polygamy as God's ideal. Instead, their lives reveal the painful consequences that often followed. In Deuteronomy 30:19, God calls us to choose life by obeying His ways, showing that His instructions are meant to protect us rather than limit us. When we follow His will, we experience greater peace, stability, and blessing.
Disobeying God's will comes with great consequences. In the bible we see the consequences that David and Solomon faced due to their disobedience to God's will, their experiences remind us that even great people can suffer the consequences of ignoring God's wisdom. The Bible encourages us to learn from their examples and choose the path that honors God, because His way always leads to life and lasting joy.
