Good afternoon to all my dear friends of Rising Star. It's a pleasure to be here with you again, as always, to share a new story. Today's story is about a character named Christopher. He faces a life dilemma that many people encounter today, but how he faces it is what truly matters. I won't tell you what it's about because you'll discover that in the story. I hope you enjoy it, friends. With that said, let's begin.

One after another, Christopher's grandparents, uncles, and parents have belonged to a long and dedicated family tradition. They've all played the bongos since the beginning of time, or so his father used to tell him. They've played bolero, a very traditional musical genre with a distinctive rhythm. Although not all have reached such heights, at least one member of each family has managed to keep the family name at the top of their genre. So they are all proud of their roots and what they have achieved so far. It's no wonder they are all under constant pressure to maintain the family name's prestige, since a failure or controversy would affect them all. Therefore, they maintain rigorous training.
Most of Christopher's cousins are also learning to play the bongos. They're finding it difficult, but they're getting there. The family wants the new generations to contribute to the family legacy, which is marked by success and fame. Christopher, for his part, was taught to play from a young age, and his teacher was one of the best, his own father who had been playing for decades.
His father taught him the art of playing well, so from a young age, he dedicated time each week just to him so that he could master the instrument at an early age. And that's exactly what happened. By the time he was a teenager, he could play the bongos very well. Everyone in the house and the family was very happy with his performance. He had achieved faster than many in the family had at that age, so they already imagined that Christopher would be the family's new great bolero player. From time to time, they had family parties, and his parents would ask him to play so he could show everyone how much he knew and the bright future that awaited him.
But there was a small problem in all of this: Christopher hated bolero. He didn't like the music that the family had mastered for decades, but he was afraid of disappointing his father, so he had never said anything to anyone. He had known this since he was young but preferred to keep quiet, always hoping that he would have the opportunity to choose when he grew up. While he was doing what his parents loved—singing boleros—and since he wasn't doing anything else, he mastered it, but always with a deep inner resentment. One thing was certain: sooner or later, he would have to choose, and that choice wouldn't be easy.
When the time came for him to rise to the occasion and become a successful bolero singer, his parents recommended he join a special group that needed a bolero singer. This group had close ties to the family because several older family members had played there. And since Christopher had a good reputation for playing well, they wanted the best future for him by having him be part of that group. The problem was simple: the group only played boleros. Precisely what he so vehemently rejected; they didn't like it. So, what he had kept silent about for so long, he had to confess to his parents.
They were very upset to find out; it was unimaginable that a member of the family with such a prestigious name as Salazar wouldn't like bolero. But that was how he felt, and he made it very clear: he wouldn't join that group, and he would never play bolero again. The consequence of this decision was that the family turned against him, and even his parents felt pressured to force him to play what had been done up to that point. But his more understanding mother told him that if that was his decision, she wouldn't try to stop him. Of course, this greatly upset everyone. Now, free from his family's constraints, Christopher began practicing new genres he liked for his bongos, such as bachata. For a few days, everything remained silent.
It was night, and Christopher's parents were watching TV while they ate when suddenly Christopher appeared on the screen. The presenter said, "Here, a great member of the Salazar family will play to accompany the singer in bachata." They were stunned; they didn't know what he was doing there, and with that introduction, if he made a fool of himself, he'd leave them all furious for tarnishing the family name. But Christopher played with all his skill and gave a perfect performance. In the end, the presenter said he was happy to see the Salazar family changing direction towards other musical genres, and the best part was that they were doing it in style, as always.
It turns out that in the end, Christopher brought great renown to the family name, but in his own way and according to his own taste. Everyone realized that it wasn't necessary to follow such strict rules or to limit themselves to just one thing. Those who had criticized him had to call him one by one to apologize and wish him success. When his parents arrived home, they also apologized and gave him a kiss. The bongos were now free in Christopher's hands.
