I have been on STEEMIT for about a month now. I thought I might add my two cents about what new users to this excellent medium might want to consider in terms of content.

  1. Don't set yourself up for disappointment by covering content that has already been posted by every news agency on the planet. You do not have any followers at this point and if you're being unimaginative with your content, you will find they are hard to come by. Good Steemians know junk and treat it accordingly. I made this mistake, so I speak from experience.

  2. Create content that promotes unity. Your goal is to gain a following, not to divide what people are here. At the end of the day you should not care what someone believes in. Common ground can be found among people from all walks of life.

  3. Try to post and upvote everyday. Don't let people forget you're here. Engage with each other in comments. Give your followers an attaboy when they post something you like. Make this a great experience for everyone by doing your part.

  4. DO NOT BEG. Do not beg for money, followers or anything else. If your content is not appealing, you are not appealing.

These are things I have observed while being here. I really enjoy this community and I would be here if I never made a penny from it.

Good luck with your adventure and STEEM ON!
