Depression happens to everyone including children and adults. We should always console those who are passing through hard times and let them know that God loves them and care for them. Rather than ignoring or judging a depressed teen, Christians are called to listen, pray, encourage them, and help them find hope in God while also seeking appropriate professional help when needed.
The Bible also teaches that hope is found in God's love and promises, even during difficult times. Teens should be reminded that their value comes from being created by God, not from their circumstances or feelings.
Psalm 34:18 says, "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."
Faith, loving support, and wise care can work together to help a struggling teen move toward healing and renewed hope.
