Today I'll tell you a bird story without a happy ending.
A few years ago we still live in the countryside with an area with a lot of farmland. On prairies, houses are protected from the wind by trees and birds know that.
All kind of birds resides around the house and some even build their nests or simply take over the birdhouses build by humans.
The first year we had a pair of swallows on the porch and they raised the offspring in front of our eyes. I didn't post on steemit yet and there was no need documenting the story.
Next spring chickadees were faster or maybe earlier and took over the birdhouse.
This time my camera was ready.
Here's the story:
I'm not sure how many views will get the post with an ugly thumbnail like this.
Don't deny it, all animal babies are cute and adorable, but bird babies are just ugly.
Well, at least most of them I should say. Chickens are cute, though.
Father was a bodyguard.
The birdhouse.
Mother is comming.
Food in,
Garbage out.
Many, many times a day for two weeks at least.
Until the babies grow up.
Now would be about the time to show you five young feathered fellows but that's not possible.
The birdhouse was set too low and bodyguard felt asleep.
This guy took care of them.
No happy end this time, birdies.
Maybe next year. Nature doesn't tolerate mistakes.
Have a good weekend, my friends.
