Paulina Falls

Join me as we take a visual tour of another sight from the Newberry National Volcanic Monument. Paulina Falls is a double waterfall on Paulina Creek. The creek drains the two lakes that lie inside the rim of the old Newberry caldera through a low spot on the west side. It was a beautiful day so enjoy the visual feast as I tour the falls. 😀

A shot from below the falls, but first let's head back to the start of the tour.

Arriving at the first viewing platform you get an idea of the size of the falls and the approximate 80 foot drop.

A last look at the falls before venturing down the trail to the bottom of the falls.

About halfway down you get your first good glimpse of the falls.

Nearing the bottom, a glance at the white water as the creek continues on its way after plunging over the falls.

At the bottom you get an awe inspiring view of the falls. You also see some of the car sized boulders that have been washed from the cliffs over the millennia.

A look down stream as the creek continues its journey through the boulder strewn canyon.
