There is Old Red sitting in the driveway of the halfway house. Seems to rain a lot in Virginia! I guess that beats snow though :)
First thing a guy does is to plan to take a day or three off to work some on my DIY move to Virginia, and next thing I know is it has been about three weeks! Wow! That is a lot for a guy that generally posted nearly every day. I suppose old Newton had it right when he basically stated that a writer that stops writing tends to stay not writing! Who knew he knew what it was like to blog!
So what have I been up to? Well I seem to basically work about 14 hours or so unpacking and sorting! Or in this photo, hanging new door pulls! Did you know nowadays new door pulls can cost an arm and a leg?!? Yikes they are brutal!
I had to spend some money on LED lights. When doing finicky small work like measuring holes for the door pulls, my old man eyes need all the light they can use. These were about $120 at Harbor Freight.
Speaking of buying, a special thanks to @dswigle for making Market Friday so much fun every week!
We have been buying some food from a new to us place called Cookout.
We had our first taste of Cheerwine which was nice like a cheery cola mixed with Dr Pepper. YUM.
It seems to specialize in BBQ but they also have other food items as well like burgers and quesadillas. For about eight bucks you get a platter with a sandwich and choice of sides and a refillable drink. We opted for Cajun fries and onion rings with some slaw on a BBQ pork sammie! Delish!
I am happy to be back on Hive now that out internet has been hooked up. Before that although we had heat and a micro, fridge and dishwasher, it still felt like some rough glamping. I am getting too dang old for this noise!
