Love the bokeh balls
Yeah I am a big believer in buying gifts for yourself. Although I try to save my pennies all year long, I like to treat myself to a little tiny bit of fun here and there.
For a cheapo 50 dollar vintage lens, I think it is sharp enough to use for posting.
My Steemit pal on here
@sallybeth23 told me some good advice in a comment that the secret to having gifts to open is to wrap them immediately upon purchase. Of course we all know I am way to much of a child at heart to do the responsible thing, so for Market Friday I will share a couple of little gifts-to-be that were opened before their time!
Here is Ben getting into it.
Interestingly it was wrapped in newspaper with Japanese or Chinese writing lol.
It is a Helios m44-2 vintage lens.
It was made in the USSR and was a Zeiss copy.
Of course I want to thank Steemit's own Christmas elf, the lovely
@dswigle, for working so hard every week to make Market Friday such a big hit!
Ben using it on the Canon 80D
It is known for making nice bokeh balls and also for a swirly bokeh pattern if you get the distances and light right. It was cold out so we didnt try hard. This just barely shows it starting, but the distances were limited because we were on the balcony.
We had to indulge several of the demanding gnomes that insisted in sitting for a shot. Not only are they seemingly popular this year, they are diva like sheesh!
It also does so nice regular images for 50 bucks, I think.
Have a great weekend!
