It was a primitive resort walking distance up the beach from Montañita, the semi-famous surfer outpost. The name of the place at the time (2011) was Kamala. The resort had been seized from a bank that was holding possession illegally -- or so the story went -- and it was in turn, under attack by a commune directly behind it that wanted access to the ocean front. I wonder if it's still there?
