Day 38.

A long-awaited day off, I managed to sleep longer than usual and do things that I didn’t have time for during the last intensive week: cleaning, shopping for groceries, contacting relatives and volunteers. Also today I managed to fight on my own frontline: when I have time, I do volunteer translations. Such an initiative was invented by the educational organization Litosvita, having already gathered 1,241 translators in its Telegram channel. Unfortunately, I do not have enough time to do this every day, but when I get it, I feel very good, because I have the opportunity to help our country not only financially.

The best news of the day is liberation of Kyiv region from the occupants!
However, it's no time to relax, as we know how unpredicted and illogical our enemy is. We need to keep defending and fighting back - PHOTO CREDIT

The day started with report of rocket strikes in Pavlohrad district of Dnipro region, not far away from my home town. One rocket hit the railway: tracks and contact networks were heavily damaged, wagons exploded. The second rocket flew into the open area, a fire started. One person was injured, there were no deaths. Near my native town, Kryvyi Rih, a fuel station was shelled which caused a fire. I feel very worried about this region of Ukraine because my parents, grandparents and numerous friends are there. The collision line is quite close, so I am concerned about possible escalation of the situation there. Still, I prefer to trust the power of our Armed Forces, because these are incredible guys.

In one of my previous posts, I mentioned that several journalists were kidnapped or went missing. One of them was a famous photo journalist, Max Levin. This day brought sad news: his body was found in Huta Mezhyhirska, Kyiv region. He went missing on March 13. His colleague, ex-military and photographer, Oleksii Chernyshov, who was documenting the consequences of russian occupation and strikes around Moshchun village with Max, still hasn't been found. It is reported that he was directly shot by russians. He was a photographer most keen on military theme, and said that "Every journalist dreams of taking a photo that will stop the war'. He had 4 minor sons, a wife and elderly parents.

People who knew him and appreciated his diligent work can help his family by transferring money to these bank cards: 4441114420335646 (MonoBank, Zoriana Stelmakh), 5168757403122528 (PrivatBank, Inna Varenytsia). Bank card details can be checked in web articles of most all-Ukrainian broadcasters.

On March 29, Mykolaiv Region Administration was shelled by occupants, which was a very tragic event in terms of its consequences. The rescue work is still ongoing, and the bodies are still being recovered from the ruins of the building. The rocket was directed in the central part of the building, where the cabinet of Vitalii Kim, the head of Mykolaiv administration, is (was) located. Kim mentioned that on that day, he overslept and wasn't at his workplace during the airstrike, which saved his life. The number of casualties is 33 people, 34 people were injured, at least 18 were rescued from under the ruins. Just have a look at this picture of how russians came to 'liberate' us.

Notice: this is NOT a military object. This is NOT a 'neonazi' or 'Bandera' region - most of the population in Mykolaiv region is (but will not be any more) russian-speaking.

With each new day of the war, my hatred for russia only grows. During the first week I was shocked, during the third one I was in despair, but now what I feel is disgust. When I see all their actions and how they talk about it and how they behave, it’s like I’m immersed in a bowl of larvae. Ugly to the point of insanity. That's how I feel when I think about all these vile, pitiful russians. These are just uneducated parasites that can only eat, get drunk, talk about their imperial ego and hurt others.
