Stained glasswork has been a hobby of mine for a while.
If you decide to try it make sure to cover your fingertips with masking tape which you can dip into water. It protects you from the agony of numerous micro cuts and helps avoid the necessity of multiple bandaids. After a while of practicing the fingertips usually toughen up so that you can handle the glass without the small cuts.
If you can get through the initial trauma and learn to handle the glass you may get to the point of making something unique.
I made this transom for a friend's house in Montana. Wish I was faster. These projects can take a while but the feeling of accomplishment when finished usually delivers the feeling of satisfaction which keeps you moving on to the next idea.
Happy Steeming!
