Life is the best teacher of all, our age when we are at school is where we are most impressionable and what do they do in this institution they brainwash us and keep us dependent on the system and not taking any real risks in life and then do something they want us to do. We are taught to get a job, instead of fulfilling our true destiny. I know rick and Morty is a cartoon, it did resonate with me what Rick said. He repeats this line of thinking when he goes into his universe to fix his car battery.
