I heard a story today.
A young guy worked as a sales boy in a supermarket. Low pay. Hard work. But every time he got his salary, he'd go out with friends for club, expensive drinks, new clothes until the money was gone.
He believed he would never be rich unless he started earning a big salary.
Then one day, he saw a family being thrown out of their apartment for not paying rent. And he heard someone say:
"You work but you do not plan."
That line hit him. And it hit me too.
What I Realized
I've been that guy sometimes.
Not the clubbing part, but the part where money comes and goes without me really knowing where it went.
School fees. Food. Transport. Data. Small things add up fast.
It's easy to blame the economy, or the government, or the system. But sometimes, the problem is closer than we think.
We work. But we plan
What Changed for Him and What's Changing for Me
He decided to track his next paycheck.
No eating out. No clubbing. No new clothes. And at the end of the month, he had savings for the first time.
He didn't need a big salary. He just needed a plan.
I'm learning the same thing.
On Hive, I power up small amounts. Not big. But consistent.
In school, I try to stretch my money. Not because I have a lot but because I don't want to waste what I have.
The Lesson
"It's not about how much you earn. It's about how much you keep."
A big salary without discipline is empty. A small salary with planning can build something real.
Whether it's money, Hive Power, or time if you don't plan, it will slip through your fingers.
Have you ever had a moment where you realized you were working but not planning? What changed for you?
